Joondalup Private Hospital
Part of Ramsay Health Care

Our History

Joondalup Health Campus was established in June 1996 when the Western Australian Government appointed Health Care of Australia to operate the existing Wanneroo Hospital and transform it into a modern health care facility.

The project involved refurbishing and extending the existing public hospital; the construction of a new private hospital, emergency department, specialist medical centre and community health centre; and providing the local residents access to a greater range of health care services.

JHC is operated by Ramsay Health Care (RHC) – Australia's largest private hospital operator. The Company leads the way in developing the role of private health care in Australia’s balanced health care system. It is also recognised as a leader in teaching and research with an emphasis on both undergraduate and postgraduate training of the future medical and nursing workforce.

Staff at Joondalup Health Campus treat public and private patients. The hospital has treated public patients on behalf of the State Government since 1996 under a long standing and successful contract.

In March 2013, we expanded the existing services and facilities available to private patients with the opening of the 150-bed Joondalup Private Hospital.
